I used letterpress in the final execution of the book as the statistics I chose are somewhat dismal and I wanted the book to reflect this hardened and potent edge. I felt this also gave a British feel to it, complemented by using a very British font, namely Times. After many layouts and ideas, I wanted to link the statistics together even more asking what factors they all had in common. The result was the percentage sign. This is comprised of basically two circles and a line so I designed typographic solutions for the statistics based on circles and lines.
